Security window film in JeffersonvilleWhat changes when we roll out

  • A shop door whose shattered glass is held in place by security film

    Glass stays in the frame

When glass is hit, the film holds the broken pieces together and in place, so the opening doesn't fall away and an intruder has a lot more work to do.

  • Close-up of security film anchored into a window frame

    Anchored to the frame

Attachment systems fix the film to the window frame, so the whole pane resists being pushed in after it cracks. It's the next step up for doors and storefronts.

  • A shattered glass door pane held together in its frame by security film

    Fewer flying shards

From a storm, a stray ball or an accident, broken glass held by film stays together instead of scattering, which matters in schools, lobbies and busy entrances.

  • A home’s patio door with safety film, lamplight inside

    A tougher door at home

Front door glass and ground-floor windows are a common way in. Security film makes a quick break-in slower and noisier, giving you and your neighbors more time to react.

How it holds

What goes on your glass

Security film is a strong, clear film bonded to the inside of your glass. When the glass is struck, the film holds the pieces together, so the window cracks but stays in place. That slows a break-in, keeps shards from flying and buys time. We fit Union's safety and security films.

Thicker films hold more, and attachment systems can anchor the film to the frame on doors and storefronts. Clear films barely change how your glass looks. We look at your glass first, suggest the right film and fit it by appointment, Monday to Friday; it takes a few weeks to cure fully.

Pick your strength

Pick your film

From clear safety film to anchored security film, sized to the risk.

  1. 01

    Safety film

A clear film that holds broken glass together and cuts the risk of loose shards, for entrances, schools, offices and homes where people pass close to the glass.

  2. 02

    Security film

A thicker film that keeps a broken pane together for longer, so a quick smash-and-grab or forced entry takes more time and makes more noise.

  3. 03

    Attachment systems

Anchoring that bonds the film to the frame so the whole pane resists being pushed out after it breaks, the strongest option for doors and storefronts.

Why Totally Tinted

Why Jeffersonville books us

  1. We tell you plainly what film will and won't do: it slows and contains, it isn't bulletproof, and we'll never sell it as more.

  2. We come to your storefront, school or home; the van carries everything, so the glass is assessed and fitted on site.

  3. As a Union Window Films dealer we fit Union's safety and security films, with thickness and anchoring chosen for your glass.

  4. By appointment, Monday to Friday, so every pane is prepped properly; good adhesion to clean glass is what lets the film hold.

    Handed over

We walk through every window with you, explain the cure time, and show what was fitted where so you know exactly what protects you.

Security film takes a few weeks to cure and bond fully; some haze while it dries is normal. Clean with an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft cloth, and keep blades off the film.

Security window film questions

Asked at the van door

Something else? Ask us
  • No. Security film holds broken glass together and slows down anyone trying to get through, but it is not bulletproof and doesn't make glass unbreakable. Its job is time and containment: a window that cracks but stays put is far harder and noisier to get through.
