Visible privacy, serious heat control, and a factory look front to back. Usually light enough for a car’s side windows and back window in Indiana.
Usually legal on the front side windows in Indiana; we check it on your glass.
Indiana asks for at least 30% of light through the front door windows and the back window, film and glass together. On SUVs, trucks and vans the rear side windows can take any shade, and factory privacy glass is fine as it comes; on a car we check each window with you before anything is cut. Indiana tint law

Union Carbon IR · Ceramic IR
Infrared is the part of sunlight you feel as heat through the glass. Each film turns most of it away before it reaches you.

The most heat turned away
87%of the sun’s infrared heat turned away
13% gets inside · 99.99% of UV blocked
Ceramic IR lets 13% of the sun’s infrared heat inside, about half of Carbon IR’s 25%.
The heat view is an illustration. Figures from Union’s published Carbon IR and Ceramic IR specification sheets. Both films block 99.99% of UV.
Shade and heat
The percentage on a shade is how much visible light it lets through: 5% is the darkest and most private, 70% is nearly clear. Darker shades cut more glare and keep more out of view, and in Indiana the shade decides which windows it can go on.
Heat is a separate choice, and it comes from the film, not the darkness. Union Ceramic IR rejects 87% of infrared heat and Union Carbon IR 75%, and both block 99.99% of UV. So a light ceramic shade on the front doors can still keep the cabin cooler, while a darker shade behind them adds privacy.

Shade questions
No. Darker shades cut more visible light and glare, but heat rejection comes mainly from the film itself. A light Union Ceramic IR shade can keep a cabin cooler than a dark film that isn't built to turn away infrared.
